courier or postal service, which has been better for Canada

tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

ok so nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly

WT

unrelated but 17 days to Sweden with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen

VI

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them

d0 label created
d2 accepted, origin
d4 departed origin
d6 in transit
d6-16 nothing at all
d17 arrived destination country
d19 customs cleared
d21 delivered

signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss

RR

split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing

right so how long is transit to Sweden running at the moment
tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

reship policies vary enormously. ERP honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

mine took 9 days

does QSC actually honour a reship or is it decorative

update on the earlier thing what happened when you queried a missing parcel with the supplier

RL

parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port

ports do that

vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat

anyone had a split shipment arrive weeks apart

VI

the parcel is the risk you accepted. that is worth remembering before it becomes a crisis

SL

is it worth paying for a faster service or does customs eat the difference

thats normal transit

i have lost 5 parcels in three years across a lot of orders. that is the actual rate for me

i had a parcel marked returned that arrived eleven days later. it happens

*that should say weekly

postal not courier

PP

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better

unrelated but if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that

PP

winter shipping into a cold country risks freezing, which is a different problem from heat and gets discussed less

paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up the legs either side of customs, i have it written down somewhere

SL

slightly off topic but summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice

update from 13 months ago: Canada transit has got slower, consistently, across four orders

powder is robust

AF

postal has been better than courier for me every single time. couriers are more thorough
