Highlights from this day
  • meniscus_mel — update on the earlier thing if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that 13:02
  • tansy_tests — reship policies vary enormously. QST honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal 13:40
  • plus_sixteen — a seizure letter is usually the end of it. you have lost the parcel and that is almost always the whole consequence 15:41
  • plus_sixteen — the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better 15:45
  • blank_run — signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice 16:13

courier or postal service, which has been better for Australia

tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

handling fee is the killer

FT

nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly

PS

paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up the legs either side of customs

SB

the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better

update from 3 months ago: Poland transit has got slower, consistently, across four orders

BR

signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss
summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice

BR

postal has been better than courier for me every single time. couriers are more thorough

TT

parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port

BR

vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them

the parcel is the risk you accepted. that is worth remembering before it becomes a crisis

mine took 20 days

i had a parcel marked returned that arrived eleven days later. it happens

ST

15 days to Spain with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen
