the lead times start stretching and everyone pretends to be surprised

February did what February does. Quoted lead times moved from ten days to three weeks across most of the sourcing channel, and the people who had been here a year said the same thing they said last year, in the same tone. Two suppliers posted holiday notices in good time. Several members had clearly not read them.

What happened

  • GL Biochem and Sangon Biotech both went into holiday shutdown with notice, and the notice was still a surprise to about a third of the channel.
  • The oral GLP-1 channel opened and spent its first week on why oral semaglutide bioavailability is roughly one percent and what SNAC is doing about it.
  • The plain-water rule for oral dosing was restated three times because coffee keeps counting as something, no matter how much anyone wants it not to.
  • Members were reminded that a holiday shutdown is a shutdown, not a supplier going quiet on them, and that the two look identical from outside.
  • cold_chain_cmdr started a list of who had actually posted dates, which became the first version of a table the room still keeps.
